Important things you don't know about a Hidden roof House.

IMPORTANT THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT A HIDDEN ROOF HOUSE

Many people are very attracted to the modern look of a house with a hidden roof because it seems to have fewer tiles and its appearance is attractive.

However, the truth is that many people believe that this house is less expensive because it uses fewer tiles, when in reality it uses more materials in other parts of the construction.

๐Ÿ“Œ Materials used in large quantities

A hidden roof house uses a large amount of:

Cement

Sand

Porridge

Mortar

Block bricks

This is because its structure requires strong walls and a special roof system to hide the tiles.

COSTS AFTER CONSTRUCTION AND LIVING TIME

In addition to construction costs, a hidden roof house also has certain requirements during its use:

Heat reduction equipment such as AC or fans, because its roof can retain more heat.

Large windows to allow enough air to enter the house.

Excellent wall finishing (paint, texture, or cladding) so that the house looks good and lasts a long time.

Regular maintenance, often after 5 to 8 years, to maintain the quality and appeal of the house.

Roof cleaning, at least every 6 to 8 months, and ensuring that there are no tall trees near the house that can drop dirt and block the drains.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER DURING CONSTRUCTION

1️⃣ Distance from the roof to the gutter

The distance from the corrugated iron to the concrete gutter should not exceed 7.5 meters to facilitate the flow of rainwater.

2️⃣ Downspouts

For gutters longer than 6 meters, it is advisable to install two downspouts to prevent water from overflowing.

3️⃣ Gutter slope

The concrete gutter must have a sufficient slope so that water can flow properly and not stagnate.

 4️⃣ Cap on the wall

A cap of about 4 inches thick is recommended on the walls to increase beauty and prevent water from penetrating the wall and causing fungus.

5️⃣ Use of long sheets

It is better to use long sheets (measured) instead of short ones to reduce the number of joints that can cause the roof to leak.

6️⃣ Nailing

Before nailing the sheets, it is recommended to apply silicone or sealant to prevent water from penetrating the house.

7️⃣ Gutter size

The gutter is recommended to have:

A width of at least 60 cm

A height of at least 30 cm

This helps water pass easily even during heavy rains.

8️⃣ Waterproofing

It is important to use waterproofing materials (such as Sika) to prevent concrete from absorbing water and damaging the walls.

๐Ÿ“Œ Conclusion

A hip roof house is beautiful and modern, but it is often more suitable for people with a medium or high income, because its construction and maintenance costs are slightly higher than those of a conventional roof house.
