Introduction to quantit of measure work

๐Ÿ—️ INTRODUCTION TO QUANTITY OF MEASURED WORK

Today I bring a short but very basic lesson for craftsmen, managers and homeowners.

In any construction work, it is very important to know the exact amount of materials needed before starting work.

This helps:

✅ Avoid waste of materials

✅ Budget accurately

✅ Control the quality of work

✅ Avoid unnecessary losses

To achieve this, it is necessary to understand the basics of construction materials, especially concrete mixtures.

๐Ÿงฑ CONCRETE STRENGTH

The strength of concrete depends on the ratio of the mixture of cement, sand and gravel (aggregates) as well as the amount of water used.

These are the grades of concrete that are most often used:

1️⃣ Concrete Grade 30

Ratio: 1 : 1 : 2

Water: 25 Liters

๐Ÿ‘‰ Used in columns and areas that carry heavy loads.

2️⃣ Concrete Grade 25

Ratio: 1 : 1.5 : 3

Water: 27 Liters

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suitable for regular columns and beams.

3️⃣ Concrete Grade 20

Ratio: 1 : 2 : 4

Water: 30 Liters

๐Ÿ‘‰ Widely used in slabs and floors.

4️⃣ Concrete Grade 15

Ratio: 1 : 3 : 6

Water: 34 Liters

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suitable for light-duty applications.

5️⃣ Concrete Grade 10

Ratio: 1 : 4 : 8

๐Ÿ‘‰ Used for blinding or low-load applications.

6️⃣ Concrete Grade 7.5

Ratio: 1 : 5 : 10

7️⃣ Concrete Grade 5

Ratio: 1 : 6 : 12

⚠️ NOTE

• Do not add too much water – it reduces the strength of the concrete.

• Ensure that the measurements are followed correctly.

 • Use clean materials that are free of dirt or debris.

๐Ÿ“Œ Good construction starts with the right knowledge.

If you understand the measurements, you will save money and get a strong and safe home.
