These questions will show you if the technician is a professional (pro) or a savant.

1. “Have you ever built a house with this design before?”

👉 Ask for pictures of the work or the owners' numbers.

2. “What is the difference between Foundation Level and Finished Floor Level?”

👉 This tests the ability to read a map.

3. “What part of this map is technically difficult?”

👉 A good technician identifies challenges early (beam, corners, etc.).

4. “What professional equipment do you have?”

👉 Level Machine, Plumb bob, Vibrator. If he says water bottle… shock.

5. “What is your basic brick, sand and cement analysis?”

👉 Compare with your BOQ.

 6. “How will you prevent dampness from rising up the walls?”

👉 Check if he knows DPC and nylon under the slab.

7. “How many permanent assistants do you have?”

👉 Assess the ability to lead a team.

8. “If the wall bends, what happens next?”

👉 A good technician will say: I will demolish it at my own expense.

9. “What milestones will we use to pay you?”

👉 Payment should be in stages, not all the money at the beginning.

10. “Can I see the two houses you recently built?”

👉 This is your big insurance.
